High-Frequency Plane Piezoelectric Transducer for High-Sensitivity Acoustics

With the continuous deepening of ocean exploration and growth emergency rescue needs, hydroacoustic transducer, as an important component sonar, has become more demanding. To improve reception performance piezoelectric we developed a high-frequency, high-sensitivity planar transducer. A variant 1-3-2 type material is used to effective electromechanical coupling coefficient, upper surface covered with brass plate amplify stress, two materials different dimensional parameters are arranged vertically expand bandwidth. We investigated properties determined dimensions actually fabricate transducer utilizing equivalent circuit analysis methods finite element simulations. prototype was fabricated tested for resonant frequency, receiver sensitivity, bandwidth, horizontal directivity then. The results show that transducer’s frequency about 218.7 kHz, maximum receiving sensitivity -178.7 dB, 3 dB loss bandwidth 45 17°. test all indicate great potential application in marine underwater rescue.
